Draw update

31 January, 2024 By Paul Skinner

I have just heard there will be no buggies allowed tomorrow.  So as I suggested in the “draw” email if you can walk tomorrow join one of the earlier 3 balls.  Preferably the later 3 balls as it is better not to have 4 balls followed by 3 balls because it slows play.
You are all “BIGBOYS” you can sort yourselves out.

SWC Draw 1 Feb 24

31 January, 2024 By Paul Skinner

We have 24 members and 1 guests this week, so we have 3 – 3balls and 4 – 4balls.  Because of the uncertainty over buggies I have again put them at the back.  If you are needing a buggy check with the proshop before you leave.  If you are able to walk then arrive early and  join one of the 3 ball groups.

SWC Draw 18 Jan 24

17 January, 2024 By Paul Skinner

We have 23 members and 0 guests this week, so we have 1 – 3balls and 5 – 4balls.  I have again put the buggies at the back because it is possible (likely) that they will not be permitted and if that is the case some may choose to walk while others will not play.  In that case the last 2 or 3 groups will need arrive a little earlier to sort yourselves out.  If you are needing a buggy check with the club before you leave home.

Matches Won

Matches Won

Format

Pairs Shambles Matchplay:

Played from yellow tees for men and red tees for women. Full handicap is used. A minimum of 4 drives must be taken from each player, unless a match is finished before this is possible.

Both partners tee off. The best drive is selected and both players then play their own ball until it is holed. The best stableford score is compared with the best from the other pair and the highest score wins the hole. If both scores are equal then the hole is halved.

As hole 6 is not in play then it should be regarded as being halved.

As with normal matchplay a match can be won, – 1 up, 2&1, 4&3 etc

Good luck everyone and enjoy your day.

SWC Draw 7 Dec 23

6 December, 2023 By Paul Skinner

We have 24 members and 3 guests this week, so we have 1 – 3balls and 6 – 4balls.  Once more we need to squeeze in an extra tee time so check your time carefully and be ready to go ASAP.
Reminder this will be the last official SWC game of the year and your last chance to improve your overall scores before the annual presentation on the 21st.  Next week as you know is the Solstice Challenge and the following week the Zim/Zam Trophy.  Normal service will be resumed shortly after, (weather permitting).
If you have a trophy from last year can you return them to me for the presentation Lunch.
